Steuben Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Steuben Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. is the largest rural electric cooperative in New York State.  The Steuben Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. maintains over 1100 miles of distribution lines throughout Steuben, Schuyler, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties. Steuben Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. provides electric service to over 5,300 members. Steuben Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. employs 28 full time employees and is governed by 9 board members.

 

SREC Generating Company, Inc.

The SREC Generating Company, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Steuben Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. The subsidiary was formed to develop and operate the Cooperative's 3.2 megawatt power plant, which is powered by landfill gas from the Steuben County Landfill located in Bath, New York. The SREC Generating Company, Inc. is governed by 5 board members.
