Energy Assistance: HEAP

Home Energy Assistance Program

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps low-income households pay the cost of heating their homes.  If you are eligible, you may receive one regular HEAP benefit per program year and could also be eligible for emergency HEAP benefits if you are in danger of having your utility service shut off.

 

Regular HEAP Benefit:

Opens November 13, 2017, anticipated to close on March 15, 2018 or until funding is exhausted.

Emergency HEAP Benefit:

Opens January 2, 2018, anticipated to close on March 15, 2018 or until funding is exhausted.

Heating Equipment Repair or Replacement Benefit:

Opens November 6, 2017, anticipated to close on March 15, 2018 or until funding is exhausted.

 

Apply through the Department of Social Services on or after the above opening dates at otda.ny.gov/main/programs/heap
